About Shower Diverter Valve

The BV631 is a compact state-of-the-art shower diverter valve, with a body of forged brass and an engineered plastic cartridge. The body has one 1 inlet and 3 outlets, along with 2 stainless steel stop washers (S-N) ideal for customizing the installation configuration. Washer ‘S’ can be used either for RIGHT or LEFT installation by simply turning the stop washer around  90 degrees, while washer ‘B’ is for three-port configuration. If you are using more than 2 caps, remember to cap the unused port.

This compact shower diverter valve features several installation configurations, showerheads, hand showers, spouts, and body showers. The BV631 diverter valve comes with a positive détente and when connecting one port with another, the gradual turnover eliminates the water hammer noise. The spline standard is a 20 tooth broach but it can be customized to customer requests.

In all Omni Brass valves, the spline is interchangeable. The spline can be replaced at any time post-installation by simply removing the trim and sleeve. The inside of the ports is rimmed for 1/2″ copper pipe soldering, while the outside is 1/2″ NPT. When soldering, keep the torch flame away from the valve body, since overheating may damage the plastic cartridge. There are 2 types of trim to choose from the trimmed gallery.

The shower diverter valve is available in two modes: (S) sheering mode and (N) non-sharing mode. Standard valve is by default (N) non-sharing, so please specify the type you want.
The BV631 valve can deliver up to 10 GPM @ 60 psi, and the valve is certified to CSA B125us, and ASSE standards.

The BV631 is a very versatile diverter valve. Its 3 outlets allow for multiple shower options between showerheads, body showers, hand showers, tub spouts, etc. without a confusing array of valves and controls. It’s a compact 3-outlet, 5-mode, wall-mounted diverter valve. It has the unique ability to have 2 adjacent outlets operating at the same time and still achieve a high-flow rate through both open ports. This diverter valve has a positive detent and allows for gradual turnovers from one port to another eliminating water hammer. This valve has a flow rate capable of handling volumes in excess of 14 GPM @ 45 psi.
The BV631 can be converted to a 2-outlet, 3-mode configuration simply by changing – one washer (supplied) for right or left hand application. It’s easy to install with its intuitive progressive control and positive mode detents.
For applications with thermostatic valves, consider the BV651. It’s not only a diverter valve, but it also has an internal ceramic stop, which eliminates the need for a separate volume control. Although the applications of the BV631 are nearly limitless, consult the ShowerTek Applications Page for sample installations.

The standard spline is a 20-toothed broach, but both the spline and sleeve can be customized according to manufacturers’ specifications to fit any trim.
